Can I Set Up A Pre-Nuptial Agreement During the COVID-19 Health Crisis?

Dear Attorneys,

My wedding was supposed to be this summer, but we had to postpone. I was thinking that this extra time would be good to get a Pre-nuptial Agreement in place. Am I still able to do that during the COVID-19 health crisis? I have found that a lot of attorneys have closed their office to the public.

Sincerely,

Soon-to-be Spouse

Dear Soon-to-be,

We are sorry to hear about the big day, but at least you are putting the extra time to good use! You can absolutely put a Pre-Nuptial Agreement in place during the health crisis. While our physical office is also not open to the public, we are able to facilitate your entire pre-nup virtually.

From start to finish, we never have to have you in the office. Our consults are currently being offered virtually, and then you can retain us online or on the phone with our staff. Once you have done that, we will start drafting your agreement.

We exchange the drafts electronically, and can witness you sign on a virtual conference call. We then finalize your documents and send them back to you.  You will then have a valid Pre-Nuptial Agreement, without ever leaving your house!
